CHAMUNDA TEKRI,DEWAS

Dewas was earlier known as devvassini which means (devo ka assan)where god resided.
This city is popular in malwa region because of mataji mandir which is situated at a hill commonly known as 'tekri'. there a very old and holy temple of                     maa tulja -bhavani and maa chamunda with Bhairo baba
there are two ways to reach the main temple either you can go by concrete road made on hill or by using stairs which counts approx 410.

one can enjoy the beautiful view of city , bypass road and AB road as moving upwards.there is pond also in the city whose water shines due to sun and is best scenic view in rainy season.

there is so much crowd of devotees in this temple mainly in two major festival time one is navratri in the month of october and chetra navratri in the month of april.

the way to temple is surrounded by the prasad shops who sells  mataji chunri(mostly red color shawl for mataji),coconut, mataji complete shringar (sindhoor, bindi, chudi, kajal, haar etc).

there is bhairo baba temple near chamunda mataji temple and its a ritual that your prayer(darshan) is incomplete
without darshan at bhairo baba temple.

one can find so many temples on the way to main temple like kho-kho mata temple, annapurna mata temple, hanuman ji temple.

there is a interesting thing about this hill there is  'majzar'(holy place for muslims) also on this hill indicating such a unity in diversity.the pious people of both the religion worship there and symbolizing and creating a example for those who differentiate between religion, cast and creed.

  1. As long as Hindus are in majority, it will be UNITY IN DIVERSITY. And once Hindus becomes minority, .... well ... we all know about our own JK, KL, WB etc.
